German Cut Bb Clarinet Reeds

Specifically designed for German-type mouthpieces, the German Cut reeds were developed in close collaboration with a group of professional German clarinetists. After extensive testing of multiple prototypes, the final design was created to meet the high standards of tone, flexibility, and response demanded by these musicians.

Each reed is crafted from a 3.4 mm cane segment, precisely reduced to 3.0 mm, placing the scraping in the most vibrant area of the reed. This design enhances resonance and produces a brighter, more brilliant sound.

The reed’s shallow shoulders form a tight crescent shape, which contributes to excellent pitch stability—even with its highly flexible and spontaneous response. The result is a reed that delivers clarity, precision, and expressive playability, ideal for the discerning clarinetist.
